Motor Pool
The ISU Motor Pool provides a reliable and convenient fleet of vehicles for short-term use by faculty, staff, and departments. Whether you need transportation for a few hours or a few days, we’re here to help you get where you need to go safely and comfortably.
Reservations: Please reserve vehicles at least 48 business hours in advance. Half-day rentals (under 4 hours) are available; trips over 4 hours are charged at a full-day rate.
Cancellation Policy: If you no longer need a reserved vehicle, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a one-day rental charge.
Available Vehicles: Our passenger fleet is designed primarily for use on paved surfaces. Limited incidental use on gravel parking areas is acceptable.
No Mileage Charges: Rentals are charged by the day, with no per-mile fees.
When renting, drivers acknowledge and agree to follow ISU’s University Vehicle Use Policy. Operators are responsible for the safety of both occupants and the vehicle in all conditions. In line with University Policy 9020, Transportation Services may suspend driving privileges or assess cleaning/repair charges for misuse.

Available Vehicles
To help meet campus transportation needs, the ISU Motor Pool offers a fleet of well-maintained passenger vehicles designed for reliable use.
Reservations: Because of high demand, please make reservations at least 48 business hours in advance.
Half-Day & Full-Day Use: Trips lasting fewer than 4 hours may be reserved as a half day. Any trip over 4 hours will be charged at the full-day rate.
Mileage: There are no mileage charges on rentals — costs are based on the daily rate of the reserved vehicle.
Cancellations: If you no longer need a reserved vehicle, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Reservations not canceled within this timeframe will incur a one-day rental charge at the vehicle’s daily rate.
Vehicle Use: Our fleet is intended primarily for paved surface use. Limited, incidental driving on gravel lots is acceptable, but paved roads should be the main use.
