Purpose:
To establish guidelines and understanding of how parent rooms are used and how they are accessed at Idaho State University.
Purpose of Parent Room:
Ensuring equal access to lactation spaces and parent rooms is essential for compliance with Title IX, Federal guidelines outlined in the PUMP ACT (FLSA expansion) and fostering an accessible campus environment. The intent of these rooms is to provide a safe, welcoming place for parents to take infants and small children to feed them, change them or for nursing mothers to pump milk.
Process:
How guests, students, staff and faculty can gain access to our current spaces:
- Parent rooms will be fitted with a standard locking mechanism displaying “Vacant” or “In Use.”
- Mamava Lactation pods can be accessed through the Mamava smartphone app for iPhone and Android or by calling Equal Opportunity & Title IX at 208-282-3964 or Public Safety (afterhours) at 208-282-2515 for the door code.
Students, faculty and staff at Idaho State University (ISU) can gain access to the Rendezvous parent room by having their Bengal Card activated to work in the card slider. Once activated, the card can be used to access the room for one academic year. We do not have guest access available for this room at this time.
To activate your card, send an email with your name and Bengal ID# to Jerrica Kenison, jerricakenison@isu.edu.
Your card will be activated electronically.
