Profile

Dr. Kristie Karroum is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Nursing DNP program. She has over 22 years of nursing experience, specializing in maternal-infant health. As a Nurse Practitioner, she previously founded a home visit practice to provide equitable access to care to families through home visits billable to private insurance and Medicaid. Her work has also included development and implementation of policies and programs.

Dr. Karroum is a member of the American Association for Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners of Idaho and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties. She was the recipient of the 2021 USLCA National Changemaker award, and in 2025, the Dr. Jane Grassley Award of Excellence in Breastfeeding Care & Advocacy. She actively serves on the board of the Idaho Breastfeeding Coalition (IBC) where she is the state liason for the United States Breastfeeding Committee and shares the IBC mission to facilitate a community and statewide landscape that protects, supports and promotes breastfeeding as the biological norm for a healthier Idaho.
