Become a Member of the Bengal Marching Band

The ISU Bengal Marching Band joins together the winds, drumline, color guard, and Bengal Dancers to perform at ISU Football and community events.

Students should enroll in MUSP 1179 for 1 credit. All current students (full time/12 credits) who have a GPA over 2.0 are eligible for scholarship.

Community members may also be a part of the Bengal Marching Band with a firm commitment to attending all rehearsals and performances. There is no monetary benefit for participation of non-students.

The Band meets MWF from 12-2pm in Holt Arena.  On game-day and "Festival Saturdays", plan on all-day events.

2025 Band Camp Information

The ISU Bengal Band Camp begins about a week before classes begin.  Band Camp is mandatory for all members.  Some meals are provided and on-campus housing is available for the week.

The Bengal Marching Band typically does 3-4 different shows per year.  By the end of camp, we will have Pre-Game and have started our first halftime show.

When Does Band Camp Start?

August 15 (Drumline): Auditions @ 9:00AM on Friday  

August 16 (Everyone): Check-in AM, rehearsals begin @ 1:00PM

Aug 18-22: Keep all week open (8:00AM - 9:00PM)

Bengal Marching Band Scholarship Information

With Successful Audition: $1,000. 

Colorguard: $1,000 (no audition required - fill in application below)

Section Leader: Add $350 Bonus

Drum Major: Add $600 Bonus

Pep Band: $500  (Disbursed after the season in March)

Additional scholarship money may be offered by attending the Department of Music scholarship audition day.

Scholarship auditions for all ensembles are held on the last Saturday in February.  All students interested in being a Music Major or Minor must audition. You may apply for a scholarship on the music department website and a staff member will contact you to schedule a specific time. Scholarship auditions can also be made by appointment in the event you cannot make one of the scheduled audition days. It's never too late to audition!

Students receiving scholarships must be full-time ISU students with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
