Transfer Credit Process
If you are a transfer student, coursework completed at international colleges or universities is initially transferred to Idaho State University as elective credit, based on the third-party credential evaluation you submitted with your application. Once your official transcripts and evaluation are received AND you are admitted to the university, the Registrar’s Office begins the review process. Evaluations are typically completed within seven business days, and you will receive notification through your ISU email.
After you arrive in the U.S., you may wish to have your previous coursework reviewed in more detail to see if any classes you completed abroad can be used to meet ISU degree requirements. To start this process, meet with your academic advisor and provide your course-by-course credential evaluation, syllabi, course descriptions, or examples of your previous work. Final decisions on course substitutions are made by ISU faculty in the relevant academic departments.
