ON-CAMPUS
The Dean of Students Office: Supports the ISU community in creating a safe and accountable campus. They manage the campus Report of Concern, CARE Team, Student Code of Conduct violations, and help students who are running into barriers to their success as students. Public Safety: Takes reports of crimes and other incidents, manages the campus Annual Security & Fire Safety Report, provides Safety Escorts, assists with the use of the Rave Guardian Safety App, and much more. They can be reached at pubsafe@isu.edu or 208-282-2515.
Student Leadership & Engagement Center: Assists student groups and student leaders in developing meaningful engagement opportunities through campus involvement opportunities. They provide mentorship, training, and guidelines for student organizations to ensure their success on campus. They can be reached at 208-282-3451.
Counseling & Mental Health Center: Provides free counseling for all ISU students. They also deliver numerous training opportunities and outreach activities on campus throughout the year. Services for students who do not live in the state or cannot make it to campus are also coordinated through this office. They can be reached at 208-282-2130.
HAZING PREVENTION ORGANIZATIONS
StopHazing: StopHazing’s mission is to promote safe and inclusive school, campus, and organizational environments through research, resource sharing, and the development of data-driven strategies for hazing prevention and the promotion of positive and inclusive group climates.
Hazing Prevention Network- The Hazing Prevention Network, formerly known as HazingPrevention.Org, is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people to prevent hazing. Their goal is to educate people about the dangers of hazing, advocate for change, and engage the community in strategies to prevent hazing.
Timothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity and Sorority Research - The Piazza Center aims to enhance and promote professional practices that positively influence students, alumni, headquarters, and campuses. By researching the effectiveness of various strategies employed by practitioners- such as advising chapters, altering campus policies, and implementing educational programs - the center seeks to identify successful methods that can be replicated to improve student behavior and create safer and stronger chapters and campuses.
University of Virginia’s Gordie Center- The Gordie Center’s mission is to end hazing and substance misuse among college and high school students nationwide.
Inside Hazing- Inside Hazing’s mission is to provide methods of prevention and intervention in hazing; to explain the psychology of hazing in high school, college, the military, and the workplace.
