
GIS Graduate Certificate
The GIS Graduate Certificate is offered to those who wish to become proficient in the collection, management, and analysis of spatial data. The courses; Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Remote Sensing, and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS)— are used to teach the theory and application of Geospatial Science. You may pursue the GIS Graduate Certificate independently or in conjunction with another ISU graduate degree.
The goals of the GIS Graduate Certificate are to learn the skills needed in the current geospatial workforce. You will learn the future directions of the geotechnology to be successful in research, government, and industry.

Apply to ISU Graduate School
In order to apply to the GIS Graduate Certificate, you must apply to the Graduate School. You will need three letters of professional recommendation and transcripts showing you have earned and B.A. or B.S. from an accredited institution. The GRE is not required if you have a 3.0 GPA or above from your undergraduate institution.
We are unable to offer funding for the GIS Graduate Certificate.
You need to complete 14 credits of required course work and 5 credits of elective course work (choices listed below). Meet with the Director of Geotechnologies to plan your course work as soon as possible.
