Dropping or Withdrawing from a Course

Students who register for a class and decide not to take it for ISU credit, will need to login to their Dual Enroll account and either drop or withdrawal from the course by the appropriate deadline (please see course syllabus). If the course is not dropped by the deadline, the student is obligated to pay the course tuition to the university.  Deadlines are strictly enforced and high school and college registrations are separate.

NOTE: If the students fails to drop or withdraw through Dual Enroll they will remain registered at the university for the course.  Should they not complete the course, a failing grade will be posted to their permanent college transcript.

What Happens When you Drop a Course

If you decide early that a class isn't right for you, you can drop it by the add/drop deadline (See course syllabus).

  • Dropped classes do not appear on your college transcript
  • Any tuition charges will be refunded
  • You are still eligible for the full amount of Advanced Opportunity funding for future courses
  • You can drop a course online through your DualEnroll account

How to Drop a Course

  1. Login to DualEnroll (isu.dualenroll.com)
  2. Click on the "Status" tab found at the top of the page
  3. Click on the "Drop" hyperlink for the course

If the drop option does not appear for the course you want to drop, please contact the Early College Program Office at ecp@isu.edu or call at 208-282-6067. 

What Happens When You Withdraw from a Course

Students can, for medical, academic, or personal reasons, choose to withdraw from an Early College Program course before the withdrawal deadline. Please keep in mind:

  • A "W" grade will appear on your college transcript (will not count toward the GPA)
  • You will not get a refund
  • You are considered to have attempted the course but not completed it
  • If may affect your Advanced Opportunities funding eligibility
  • May affect Academic Standing and future Financial Aid eligibility

How to Withdraw from a Course

  1. Login to DualEnroll (isu.dualenroll.com)
  2. Click on the "Status" tab found at the top of the page
  3. click on the "Withdraw" hyperlink for the course

If the withdraw option does not appear for the course you want to withdraw, please contact the Early College Program Office at ecp@isu.edu or by phone at 208-282-6067.
