Physical therapy students treating a patient

ISU’s Physical Therapy Clinic delivers high-quality, individualized therapy services to ISU faculty, staff, students, and community members throughout the Treasure Valley. Our licensed faculty clinicians and skilled therapists provide a wide range of evaluation and treatment services to support recovery, mobility, and overall wellness.

As a teaching clinic, the PT Clinic also serves as a vital training site for doctoral students in the Physical Therapy program, ensuring patients receive excellent care while supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Services

Our clinicians specialize in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions for both pediatric and adult patients. This includes comprehensive care for injuries and dysfunctions of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments—such as sprains, as well as non-operative and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Treatment approaches include manual therapy techniques and individualized therapeutic exercise programs designed to restore function, reduce pain, and help you achieve your personal performance and wellness goals.

We offer comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for injuries and dysfunctions of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments—including sprains and post-surgical recovery. Our approach combines manual therapy techniques with individualized therapeutic exercise programs to reduce pain, restore function, and promote long-term wellness.

Our manual therapy services include spinal and extremity joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and muscle retraining techniques. These hands-on approaches are designed to reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve overall movement quality.

Our clinicians provide specialized evaluation and treatment for patients recovering from concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries. Therapy focuses on reducing symptoms, improving balance, restoring cognitive and physical function, and safely guiding patients back to daily activities, work, or sports participation.

Our team offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for runners of all levels, from recreational to competitive athletes. Services include gait analysis, strength and mobility assessment, and individualized training plans to address injuries, improve efficiency, and prevent future problems. Our goal is to help runners return to activity safely and achieve their performance goals.

Blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy allows patients to safely build strength and endurance using light weights or slow, controlled movements. For those recovering from injury, this method helps stimulate muscle growth and improve performance without placing excessive stress on the healing area.

Headshot of Seth Hampton

Seth Hampton, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist / Adjunct Faculty

(208) 373-1734

(833) 499-1813

Dr. Seth Hampton serves as adjunct faculty and the full-time physical therapist at Idaho State University's community PT clinic in Meridian, Idaho. He graduated from physical therapy school at Northern Arizona University-Phoenix in 2019, and earned a special certification in concussion management through Complete Concussions in 2025.

Seth has presented to DPT students at Tufts University, DNP students at ISU, and numerous sports teams, running groups, and CrossFit gyms across the Treasure Valley.

At the ISU PT clinic, he provides one-on-one, hour-long sessions focused on identifying and treating the root cause of pain so patients can get back to their favorite activities. He specializes in sports physical therapy, treating endurance athletes, CrossFit and hybrid athletes, and team sport athletes. Whether it’s running injuries, overuse pain, concussion rehab, or post-surgical recovery, Seth helps patients stay active while they heal without “rest and hope” advice or cookie-cutter exercise plans.

When he’s not teaching students or helping patients crush their goals, he’s likely cracking a dad joke that no one asked for. He’s convinced it’s an important part of the rehab process. He’s proud to be Lexi’s husband and the "girl dad" to daughters Jade and Lily.

Payment, including co-pays and deductibles, are expected at the time of service.

Medicare and Medicaid patients must have a physician’s order on file to receive services and many insurance companies are now requiring authorizations for continued therapy services.

Idaho State University recognizes that our mission is to care, support, and educate individuals and families affected by health conditions that diminish their quality of life. We acknowledge that individuals may experience discrimination in the healthcare system, which can adversely affect their health outcomes.  We recognize that both conscious and unconscious discrimination occur. Overt and conscious discrimination is not tolerated. Unconscious or unintentional discrimination need to be identified, challenged, and addressed. We believe everyone has the right to be healthy and have access to the resources they need.

We strive to achieve the following commitments to our colleagues and our patients:

  •  Goal 1: We do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
  • Goal 2: All patients receive the highest level of care possible delivered in a patient and family friendly approach using evidence-based medicine.
  • Goal 3: We recognize racism, not race, as the cause for healthcare disparities and therefore will examine our healthcare treatment plans for bias.
  • Goal 4: We will track information on factors that create disparities as they relate to health outcomes to better identify how we may actively seek to eliminate such disparities in healthcare.
  • Goal 5: We intend to improve the diversity of our workforce to reflect the community we serve.
  • Goal 6: We commit to listen, learn, and seek to understand in order to create impactful and sustainable positive change.
  • Goal 7: We will recognize and reward practices that promote health equity.

Definition of health equity: The state in which everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health. https://www.cdc.gov/healthequity/

While the terms equity and equality may sound similar, the implementation of one versus the other can lead to dramatically different outcomes for marginalized people: Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome within the scope of care provided at ISU Clinics.
