Dr. Taha Ahmed is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the Australian University. He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Nevada (USA), a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia, and an International Professional Engineer (IntPE) under the APEC framework. Dr. Ahmed earned his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa, USA, his M.Sc. from the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, and his Bachelor of Engineering from Assiut University, Egypt. His academic and professional career spans over two decades, focusing on pavement materials and transportation infrastructure systems. His research interests include pavement design and analysis, asphalt materials characterization, traffic and transportation systems, recycled and sustainable construction materials, and pavement management systems. He has secured several competitive research grants from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), published numerous peer-reviewed papers, and served as a reviewer for leading international journals. Dr. Ahmed has also contributed to major international conferences as a member of organizing and scientific committees. Since 2016, he has been serving as the Vice President for the Middle East Region of the International Society for Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Transportation Infrastructure (iSMARTi).
