Dr. Som Dhulipala is a Computational Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). His interest lies in uncertainty quantification (UQ) as applied to finite element analysis and critical infrastructure resilience. Currently, he is researching the theory and applications of multifidelity modeling, Bayesian deep learning, Markov models, and efficient sampling algorithms for computational problems critical to INL and the Department of Energy (DOE) missions. He also develops the open-source software MOOSE stochastic tools for conducting uncertainty quantification studies using multiphysics models. He is serving as the principal investigator for a multi-year Laboratory Directed Research and Development project and an Office of Nuclear Safety project. He is also a lead contributor to the UQ workscope under the DOE Nuclear Energy Advanced Modeling and Simulations (NEAMS) program and the scientific machine learning workscope under the DOE Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies (AMMT) program.
